Jason,
I think companies are becoming more picky in regards to the software they
choose. I feel the trend will be more specialty software. An example of
this type of software is Optigold. Optigold is a billing system, but it is
a billing system only for ISPs. Not only is it extremely focused to meet a
particular niche, but it is also very modular so as to meet all the varied
needs inside the ISP community. You can view it and other software programs
at www.digitalpoint.com.
My deductions lead me to believe that there are an abundance niche markets
that are starving for a quality software system to increase their ability to
capitalize on the many issues that fill their business lives. QuickBooks
and the like will only work for so long ;)
my 2 cents,
Matt Clark

I don't personally think it is any software that can correct a business. I
think it is more the methodology in which the business is run. If you can
create a series of better methods in how to do business and then focus
seminars around that, then add a compliment of business applications
practicing the methods you preach, then the only fault for lack of success
would be the people not practicing those methods. The software, however,
limits that tendency since it revolves around those methods. This of course
is all providing you have catered each seminar and software package to that
particular business type and your methods are not flawed is some way.

Subject: [azipa] Question for the AZIPA group members
Hello fellow Azipians.
If someone was to ask you what is one piece of business software that needs
to be invented what would you say?
If you had to think of one application that all businesses in general need,
what would you come up with?
Ideas include: Automating processes, simplifying business practices, etc.
OR are is there really no new software that needs to be made. Meaning that
it has all been taken care of by companies like Microsoft, IBM, Sage and
Intuit?
A friend of mine and I were talking about this the other night and I was
curious as to what other business professionals had to say.
Thanks,
Jason
