Couple things,
You can email any voicestream phone simply by trying something along the
lines of 4805703646@voicestream.net. Different cell phone providers own
different prefixes...I dunno what your phone number is, but I'm sure
it's quite easy to figure out what service owns what specific prefix and
write a for loop that simply mails anyone in {480,602}-570-xxxx, and
suddenly you've beeped 10,000 people with your spam. This is probably
what happened to you.
On a more ornery note, I think we have to realize that spam is rather
inevitable, and it doesn't do a whole lot of good to get all flustered
about it. Come on folks, don't let people live rent free in your mind.
Moreover, when one writes and complains about spam to 2,000 people and
then a discussion pops up about it, you've effectively passed that
original annoyance on a hundred-thousand fold. Unless this spammer
flooded your mailbox with a thousand messages and you're paying to
recieve each one that goes in over your limit, I think it's probably
best to just pass it off as one of those assholic things that some
people have a tendency to do.
just my $0.02 and an overly candid attitude,
