Retail Software Vendor'' List in Retail-Specific Category
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 6, 2000--
JDA Among Cross-Industry Software Giants in Fourth Place Position Overall
JDA(R) Software Group Inc. (Nasdaq: JDAS) Wednesday announced that
it was ranked number one in the retail-specific category by RIS News on
"The Top 50 Retail Software Vendor" list.
Trailing only IBM, Microsoft and SAP, JDA secured a fourth place
overall standing on the list published in a supplement to RIS News'
December 2000 issue.
"Hands down JDA dominated the leaderboard in our key market space
-- retail," stated JDA Chief Executive Officer Jim Armstrong. "Not only
did our revenue exceed the rankings of the two closest retail-specific
vendors STS Systems and Retek Information Systems by 63 percent and 107
percent respectively, JDA beat the retail revenues of Oracle by 30 percent."

market share of retail-specific applications."
The retail-specific category included applications unique to
running a retail operation such as merchandising, sales audit,
inventory, e-commerce and point-of-sale (POS).
Criteria for Top 50 Retail Leaderboard Ranking
RIS News ranked the largest 50 retail software vendors, their
retail-industry software revenues from 1997-1999 and their estimated
retail software revenues for 2000. It also included market shares and
growth rates.
In addition to the retail-specific category that JDA won, the Top
50 included categories for enterprise applications and supply chain
management applications for retail. Retail software revenue data
included software, licenses and related services such as integration and
customization. The data did not include revenues for hardware sales or
management consulting.
