Calling this a fact is pretty questionable. Years after Darwin's death an
evangelical Anglican known as Lady Hope claimed to have visited him when
he was dying.
She claimed Darwin made remarks that called into question his theories and
that he seemed to have had a change of heart about religion. She did not
claim that he actually denounced his theories. Darwin's family denied any
of this ever happened.
