Sorry to burst your bubble, however, the Columbine incident was not a 
latch-key situation.  The mother of one of the perpetrators, discovered a 
shotgun, while cleaning his room.  Further, mom admitted that she had never 
seen a gun in her house before and yet, did nothing about it.  How's that 
for lack of discipline?  No "latch-key kid", no "if only he didn't have a 
gun",  rather, it was a matter of "if only mom had taken the initiative to 
do something".  On the other hand, if the parents had taken the initiative 
and paid some attention to their son in the first place...

I heard on a recent national news broadcast that 44 children are severely
harmed or killed each day in school violence. If KC's message and
courseware prevents even one Columbine massacre, every penny KC gets for
their efforts will have been worth it.
